please recommend childrens books for an adult?
ok so we live in a fast pace world and I find it comforting to listen to audiobooks for young adults. It started with Harry Potter (before the books got dark) and continued to the pendragon series, inkheart, so you want to be a wizard and pretty much everything roald Dahl has done for children.
I am in kind of a depressed spot right now and it helps me to escape to this kind of thing.
Does anyone have a recommendation for books that are happy and upbeat that I can find on Audiobook that fits into this mold?
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, both by Mark Twain. They're classics, so they'll definitely be on audio tape. Tom Sawyer is probably the more light-hearted of the two.
You could also try The Sword in the Stone, by T.S. White. Another classic, about King Arthur, and his rise to power. The series (The Once and Future King) is made up of four books, but I would suggest maybe sticking with the first one. The others get pretty dark and depressing.
If you want a laugh, try the Discworld Series by Terry Pratchett.
