Where can I download this for free?

I'd like to download the audio book for Agatha Christie's The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, featuring her fictional detective Hercule Poirot. I tried http://librivox.org, but it's not there. Do you know where it might be, for free?

I am afraid you are out of luck. Even though a published work might be in the public domain (this is under copyright), audio book versions are under copyright to protect the rights of the publisher and the artists who actually read the books. (Only in very rare cases do the owners offer an entire copyrighted work on the net for free). There is no legal way to get this book for free. If you find something on the web, it will either be someone's fabrication, or it will be pirated, which could land you in trouble if you use it.

I'd either buy (try used book stores if buying new is too rich for you) or borrow at a library. Lots of audio books can be gotten through Inter-library loan.
