Does anyone agree that the Playoffs are now hollow and pointless?
I have been an NBA fan for the last 20 years. I have spent thousands in tickets, merchandise and have not missed a game in years, but after this Stu Jackson choice and the suspensions I think I am pretty much done with basketball. I cannot force myself to watch a team I have supported with every fiber of my being go out like this. This was the worst decision I have ever experienced in the NBA.
I pray that somehow the Suns find a way, but I can't watch anymore after all they have been through. To be penalized as the victim and to have the Spurs benefit because of Robert Horry's cheap shot with 18 seconds left sickens me and has ruined more than just a game!
They did not have a choice but to follow the rule. After last years finals, I think people are leery of the fact that the NBA has been doing a lot to try to guarantee outcomes.
They made the refs crack down on hand checks, changed the defensive rules, etc... All in an attempt to benefit a certain kind of team. Phoenix is that kind of team.
If they willingly disregarded a rule, and simply let the Suns play at full strength, they would have been very vulnerable to this criticism. If Pat Burke had jumped off the bench, nobody would be yelling about the iniquity of it all.
The Suns are the Suns because they have a ton of weapons. They have a fine chance of winning tonight, which would render the whole thing moot. Let's hope that happens so we can move on, yes?
