What does it sound like for people who don't understand English to listen to people speak English?
I can listen to Japanese or Spanish people talk and not know what they are saying but I will never in my life be able to know what it is like for someone who has no knowledge of English hear English people talk.

Excellent way to put it!
Can't believe I didn't think of that thanks.
I can answer your question, I'm Chilean, my native language is Spanish, I can answer this question because, my listening isn't very good yet, there are some cases that I understand almost perfectly, but there are other cases where the only sounds I hear are two squirrels speaking.
Now, how English sounds, it depends on who's speaking, it depends on the accents I hear. English (for me) hasn't many hard (or tough, I don't know what word to use) sounds, for example the "r's", "th", "h", so generally it sounds SOFT (I hope you can imagine that), almost all the sounds are soft so, it's generally flat too. Now, English sometimes sounds really beautiful (when it's spoken in the right way, formally), I find that the voices on the beggining of the movies for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqxENMKaeCU, sounds like angels speaking. But, on the other hand, I've heard some American accents I really don't like (and don't understand at all, literally, two squirrels speaking, oh! squirrels have the soft R too), for example the accent from the baddest part of town in New York, haha (I rememberd the song, Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown, I know it's "worst"), I don't know if I'm right but that's the impression I have about these people who take drugs or like hip hop (got nothing against it) and things like that. It sounds bad (again, two squirrels speaking). And last but not least, the British Accent, it sounds pretty good (although sometimes I don't understand it), and funny sometimes, because it sounds so formal and expressive that it's just funny but nice.
Well, that's it. That's what I can say about "listening to English sounds". I hope I didn't make many mistakes and I hope I helped.
