Scholarships and other financial aid for studying at an English University?

I'm going to be a junior in high school this coming year and I'm starting to think seriously about college. As of right now, my dream is to study abroad and I have found the University of Manchester to be one of my top choices. However, the financial bit of everything is a bit confusing and worrying to me. What sorts of scholarships would I be able to use? Would I only be able to use scholarships that are issued through the UK or are there good US ones too? I know that I would be able to get scholarships if I went to a US school, but from the searching I've done, the scholarships offered for study at an English school seems kind of limited. I don't want to have to rely on loans since I have to pay those back.

And for the record, I'd be studying English Literature or English Literature and a Modern Language (French, Russian, or Japanese).

I just want to feel a bit more at ease and more secure about the finances of studying abroad.

There is no such thing as a scholarship for international students from developped countries (like the US). The only major scholarship is from Oxford (the Rhodes scholarship) but chances of getting it are slim. Some small scholarships are given out by the university, but you must have been accepted and chosen that university until you can apply for them (which is in the summer before university starts).
